I, 1

Even though the idea of seeing and believing in a ghost may seem absurd, most people during Shakespeare’s time did believe in them. For us, it’s like the idea of a UFO. Do you believe in the supernatural? Have you or anyone you have known ever seen or claimed to have witnessed some kind of supernatural being? Explain the circumstances surrounding it.

  1. I do not believe in the supernatural, but my maid does. She talks of feeling spirits in houses she has worked in, but luckily for me and my family, she says there are none in my house.

  2. As human beings (wether dead or alive) I believe we posses huge amounts of energy. Naturally, when someone has passed away and their bodies have been burried, what we are able to feel or sense is the energy that these people posses or have left behind. However, I do not believe that there is such a thing like a "ghost" with the physical attributes and characteristics of a normal person. Regarding the supernatural I do believe there are beings or situations that are beyond our understanding or our ability to perceive them most of the time. I am sure that we are not alone in the universe and I strongly believe it would be selfish to think so. There must be beings in other places but I am not sure that they actually travel in UFO's. However I am sure they are not here to hurt us but to aid us. Regardless of my believes, I have never been engaged with an alien or any other supernatural experiences.

Agreeing with Publio, i believe in the supernatural and aliens. While the supernatural might not posses the physical characters of a human or as shown in movies, there are supernatural situations and "ghosts" that cannot be explain with scientific proof. However, there are times when the human mind is so powerful, it leads you to believe in something that is not actually there. When we live in fear or are experiencing a stressful situation, our minds tend to show us what we want to believe, thus creating a ghost-like story. Furthermore, on a childish but serious level, i believe in magic and powers or such like that certain human posses that once again cannnot be explained. Regarding UFO's, i do not believe in this type of allien transportation or that the human race has had significant contact with organism from an outside planet. I do believe that there are other specimens or organism that live in this universe and we are simply a grain of sand on a beach.

  4. I don't really believe in UFO's... if the "aliens" are such an intelligent, advanced race, there would be no reason for them to interact with humans. I do believe in life on other planets, however. The universe is so large that it would be unlikely for earth to be alone. The other life forms might be boring, like single celled bacteria, but I do think they exist.
As for ghosts, I don't believe in them, yet I do. I don't think every ghost story people tell is true, but I do think a few are. Think about it: every culture in the world, during every period in history, has had ghost stories. Maybe there's a grain of truth in there somewhere?

  5. I do not belive in the supernatural but I do think there is intelligent life somewhere else in the universe. I do know someone who likes to say they have experienced the supernatural. Savannah says that her dead grandfather or something like that haunts the house and closes the doors and stuff sometimes but its just her overeacting.

  6. I do believe in the existence of supernatural beings. But I don't believe in the idea of UFOs - that's just something that Hollywood wants you to buy. However I do believe in ghosts. My granny claims he saw one during the war over communism and etc. after they burnt down his village :(

  7. Sam, Dean, and my sister have, for long, been a great influence for me when it coming to believe in the supernatural. My sister has always been interesting in any bizarre area where the movement of energy is seen. That I know of, one of the first “out of the beliefs of the general population” activity she tried was the Tarot lectures. It seems those haven’t turned her down for the accuracy they’ve given her in the future they had described. Although I’m dying to try them, too, she won’t let me because energy could be used the wrong way, resulting in bad vibes. She also knows all kinds energy auras that surround us (which are also made out of different colors), and that are there to protect us from different kinds of malice. She also goes with this lady that communicates with her guardian angel, who communicates with my sister’s guardian angel, who tells the other angel “WHAT’S UP” and yes.  Isn’t that cool? My sister asks her guardian angel for all kinds of signs, so she knows where to go, or what decisions to make.
Supposedly my sister has a gift. About 6 months ago, she started telling me about these very bizarre dreams she was having. She would dream about finding the solution to a puzzle, but she dreamt in every night for a week. This really freaked her out, not only because the repetition of the same dreams were very unlikely, but also because she would sleep, but she wouldn’t be able to rest. She also started having like premonitions about awful things happening to random people. So she went to this person who told her that she had a gift, and that she had to either accept it or deny it. With it, she would be able to help people. And so she accepted it. Of course I don’t think she ever helped anyone, or if she really has the gift. But I guess I believe her.
So my sister’s best friend’s mother can completely sense spirits and so can her whole family. And this one time, my sister’s best friend told me what my wings looked like. They looked like the closed wings of an angel. My sister’s wings are open, which I’m sure means something.
Nicole might say that most of the times, the things we see are a product of our imagination. Although this might be true, I do believe in people who are able to sense, see, and communicate with spirits. It is a weird feeling, that which you feel when perceiving a presence. I must say that I have felt a couple of presences in my house because there is a lot of energy movement. This once I was seeing a little girl: short, blonde hair. I would only see her for a second and I told my sister. I didn’t want to make it such a big deal because I get really scared, especially at night because I am afraid of the night. (I still sleep with the lights on). Then one day, Lorelai- my sister’s daughter, who is 2 years old- was in the bathroom and pointed to a mirror and said “La esta ahogando”. Of course my sister freaked out. We told our Mom, but my Mom is a chicken and ignores whatever we have to say. Anyway, I saw the girl through a mirror later on for more than one second, but then she left. I was freaking out, I remember. And when I told my sister about it, she told me that there had been a car crash where a little girl had died really near our house. She had been coming back from the beach, where God knows what happened. After that she just disappeared. I think my sister could’ve light a white candle at night so she’d find the light.
I know these are very crazy stories, yet I believe in them because I can feel them spirits and because I believe in my sister. It is likely that not all of you believe in the supernatural, but I hope you can still be respectful to those who do. And to these souls who wander the world misunderstood. At times they only seek for help, but don’t worry if you can’t help them because they won’t be looking for unwilling individuals. If you don’t believe in spirits, good for you because at least you won’t ever have to deal with them.

  8. I do not believe in the supernatural, I believe everyone believes what they want to believe. I know many people who claim yo have seen or know someone who says they have seen a ghost or something supernatural happened to them. Although I am a skeptic I have heard of stories that might as well be true. UFOs as in the Hollywood sense I do not believe in, although I am sure there is obviously more life outside Earth; we cannot be alone in the "universe" if it really is `infinite´.

  10. I do not in any way believe in the supernatural, as I am incredibly cynical (surprise surprise!) and often tend to dismiss others' claims as hallucinations or delusions. I have never had an encounter that I would consider supernatural, further reinforcing my belief that the things we perceive as supernatural do not exist.
As for UFOs and life on other planets, I do not believe at all in the former and do not know or care about the latter. As far as we are concerned, the only way any sort of extraterrestrial beings (the kind that I find hard to believe, as I agree with Lina's belief that many are just simple microorganisms) could arrive in our time with any intent to "conquer" as can be seen in the movies is if they headed out thousands or even millions of light years ago, at a time that, when observed, the Earth was nothing more than a toxic cloud with no sentient life, something that would have drastically changed and would thus render their foreign technology, seen by them as capable of decimating microorganisms, the life on Earth at the time, would not quite match up to what we have. Of course, this is quite impossible, but I also wanted to ruin it for those who do believe that aliens may one day come... :)

  11. I do not believe in the supernatural. I believe it is more the pain of loosing someone(in the case of ghosts and people apearing) and that you haven't let go. Also when you didn't say something important to that person that died, that could cause a kind of stress that may cause the illusion of the ghost. When you "see" someone you don't really see the person, it is more the desire of having the person back and how much you miss the person what makes you trick yourself into "seeing" the person.
The poeple that claim to have seen ghosts or dead people, in my opinion, have had a traumatic experience or didn't properly say goodbye to a loved one and thats the reason why they "see" people that are not with us anymore.
    ALIENS are not comming people!!!!
maybe there is another form of life out there but it is not green and it is not comming in a ship :)
if some kind of life exists out there it is very different from us and we probably will never see it. Maybe there are organisms but something soo different from what we know that we probably wont even notice if it ever comes... ALIENS ARE NOT GREEN :)

  12. I do believe in UFO's, but not the stereotype of aliens being the green midget with big head big eyes and big ears. I have heard stories of spirits that move objects and scare people. I don't know what to believe but having constant stories being told to me, is hard not to trust them.

  13. First of all I would like to thank Giselle for taking away 10 minutes of my life with that endless comment:) And secondly as most of you might already know I absolutely do NOT believe in the supernatural. As a person of science my rule is, hasta no ver, no creer.
But again as a person that relies so much in science i do agree with publio and nicole and whom ever else stated this, that yes life exists in other planet and maybe in ways we cannot even imagine. Like lina said they might be way superior or they might as well be microrganisms, either way Mausan is fraud, UFOs do not exist as people want them to exist.
Furthermore I would like to directly state that I respect any kind of beliefs and ideologies.

PS if you are religious (any religion) you believe in the supernatural, dont forget that!

Good night, may the force be with you!

  16. I don't believe the question can be answered simply by a yes or a no. It is not a question like
    do you like chocolate?

its a far more complicated one. Those who do not believe in it, I am sure have never experienced anything of the supernatural sort.

I must say i do believe in the supernatural as a direct result of what i experienced about a year ago. As some of you may know there was this thing were i got hurt on my foot. Well i didn't just get hurt one of my arteries was cut open. I lost huge amounts of blood just getting to the hospital and while i was there I lost a lot more. It may have been that i was nearly unconscious, it may have been that my neurons were firing to quickly in order to deal with the pain. Whatever the case may have been i felt safe. I felt like someone or something was keeping an eye on me. It was a strange feeling.

Ive been through a lot in my life. The jeep incident was just another incident. After we got out of the car I looked at it and thanked God no one died. I still thank him for keeping an eye on all of us.

about UFOs...thats a whole different business

  17. For now there has not been a way to either prove wrong or right the existence of UFOs, but still, I do not believe in their existence. I do, however, believe in an exterior form of life apart from ours, probably very different from the one we know. It would be great for us to be lucky enough to be able to meet with such form of life at some point, which will most probably not be by UFOs. Furthermore, in regards to the existence of a ghost or supernatural being, I strongly oppose. Personally, I believe in energy, which surrounds us all the time and might cause us to feel certain things and experience certain energies. As well, I believe the brain of the human being is impossible to define. The psychology of our thinking is inmense and can lead us to believe and even see anything we want to. I personally believe that the encounters people claim to have had, are psychologically influenced.
Finally, as well as Alexa, I would like to say that I also respect any kind of beliefs.

  18. Life in other planets exists, I mean there's no way we are alone in the universe, God knows how big it is. However I think it is the dumbest thing when people come out with this really random pictures about flying discs and green people. I mean why would they come HERE to this polluted planet with corrupted people and global warming? I always pictured them like huge purple blobs anyways because I don't want them to look like us.
About the supernatural question I think, as Victor above me, that it cannot be answered with a yes or no. Explaining my views on this would lead to explaining my different views about my own made up little religion, which would just take too long. Briefly, I believe that when we die, we just die and that's it.. its not like we come and haunt people that did wrong to us, because we wont even have our brains to remember who did it will we? However, I think all living things on this Earth carry their own energy (and stupid as it may sound, their vibe), so when people see something, as I believe some do, it's like sensing their energy, not their spirit, almost the way we know whether its our sister or our mom who just entered the room. I don't believe in souls, as much as I would like to believe in heaven, because, if we posses one, how come the plant my ex boyfriend killed doesn't, how come the chicken I just ate doesn't?
How come there isn't a special place for my bunnies to go to when they die?

  20. I have not experienced any supernatural events of my own. But I agree with Victor that it is not just a yes or no answer. I leave my self in.. yet to know for the supernatural part.

I live in the outsides of the city, so I enjoy of a big beautiful garden. My mom says that in my garden, fairies keep it alive and beautiful and as unlikely as that might sound I do believe it. I used to play in it a lot when I was smaller, so it makes me smile to think that there are other kinds of creatures that I have not seen that keep what's close to me alive.

As for UFO's I don't think the movies have got it right, but it would be very selfish to think that in a universe with so many planets, we would be the only ones to have the conditions necessary for life. I am 100% sure that there are other living organisms elsewhere.

...and my muchacha also believes in the supernatural, she says there's a 3 year old girl that sometimes walks around the house and that she's seen it.... Yeah right.

  21. Personally I don't believe in the supernatural. Most of the "supernatural" occurences that people witness can be explained scientifically. i do believe in intelligent life in the universe besides us. There is no way that we are alone in the universe. My maid in Costa Rica used to talk about this local legend about some dead bride but i don't remember the exact details. Yup

  22. I believe in the supernatural. Regarding to like aliens, i agree with Alexa completely and who ever said that the universe was huge and chances are.. there is more life in it than just us..(lina i think), but i believe this only because of how HUGE the universe is, and not because i believe in the supernatural...
i believe that when someone dies, for example, not only do they leave behind energy...(like Publio, Nicole and Alexa, etc. have said) i rlly do think that there could be spirits or other supernatural stuff going on around us... i do not believe how ever that we see them as spirits or feelings or in any other way, i think that if u feel or see something that u believe to be supernatural, its only ur brain playing tricks with you. I say this because some years ago, my cousin(who happens to be a priets) asked another cousin of mine to be present at an exorcism, she believe that was pretty real, that the person that went to be exorcsised was not the same one after, i belive so to. Or like this guy i think who cries tears of blood. I mean, no one saw it coming, no one felt anything or saw any visions or anything, so what i mean is, there r supernatural stuff and we know about it becaus eof real happenings that show them to us.

  23. I believe that there is something after we die, that there is something waiting for us out there. I refuse to believe that there's nothing after life. And I do believe in a higher power, I've never doubted the existence of one. However, I do not believe in people becoming ghosts after they die, and in them coming back to haunt people or places. To me this seems incredibly idiotic. (Sorry to those who believe in ghosts.) So while I sometimes feel my grandpa watching over me, I don't think I will ever see him walking around my house, or anywhere for that matter.
As to UFO's, like most people who have commented, I believe that there is life out there. After all, the universe is enormous, seems a little egocentric to believe that we are the only ones out there. However, I've never understood why people insist in believing that this life forms are so advanced from us and almost always green. ITS RIDICULOUS! And why would they come here to conquer us, or whatever? Like Lina said, these life forms may be single celled organisms for all we know.

  25. As an answer to this question, I would recommend a TV show called “Fringe”.

The title of the show comes from a field in science called “fringe science”, which departs significantly from mainstream or standard scientific studies. Fringe science deals with unusual theories, which often involve the so-called “supernatural” or “paranormal” happenings in the world. What is note-worthy is the fact that the theories formulated in the field of fringe science are still based on scientific principles; reason why traditional scientists recognize it as rational, but argue that it is “unlikely”. However, some of today’s widely-held theories, such as plate tectonics, had their origins as fringe science, and were held in a negative opinion for decades before being proven true.

Therefore, my personal answer to the formulated questions would simply be that the “supernatural” doesn’t exist. At least not for me. I do believe people might see ghosts or communicate telepathically, but I don’t believe – because they aren’t beyond scientific explanation- that any of these happenings should be considered supernatural.

I think it is time for the scientific community to objectively investigate events that may initially seem outside the normal parameters. And, if they did, if they chose to reject taboos and their fear of controversy, they would probably realize that many of the things we now consider to be supernatural are really not that unthinkable.

Although, I must clarify, despite the fact that I believe there are life forms outside our planet: UFO’s, as in the alien type, don’t exist. And that isn’t a presumption, it is a conviction. I mean, aliens have been a type of legend for years, and their characters, along with the spaceships they allegedly drive, have changed dramatically over time. If they were real in the first place, then, how can the descriptions of them change so much? Well, because they weren’t real, because they were somehow invented by people, and so, as societies evolve, so does the legend of the aliens.

As far as personal experiences with the supernatural: haven’t had any.

I agree with Victor that the question cannot be answer with a simple yes or no.

I do believe in the supernatural but not exactly as green little aliens. I believe that the Universe is enormous as scientist has shown and have been able to see so little of it and therefore there must be more life than us out there (as sofia, alexa etc... already stated), probably more intelligent creatures than ourselves.
I known several people who belive in ghosts and have claimed to see old people who try to communicate with. My cousin for example, once told me that he saw an old lady walking towards him and whispering something he couldn't make out. He said he was so shocked that he could not move but before the lady could reach him, a friend of his came and the lady disappeared. He saw the lady two more time after that but was never able to figure out what she was saying or wanted.
I agree with Pili when she said that she can sometimes feel har grandpa watching her. I get that feeling sometimes not only feeling my grandparents but also my uncle. I do feel them around but I know I won't see them or for know I believe I won't. I would have to experience an apparition to believe people do come back.

  28. ok, maybe you are right alexa, jaja my comment came after a 5 hour marathon of the show. can u blame me?

but i still agree with the main idea of my comment which is that in our world the "supernatural" is often just a synonym for the "unknown". And for human beings, accepting we can't know everything is the most painful thing ever, so we choose to just call it supernatural.

But I'm not scared. On the contrary, the unknown is very tempting. You'll see. In a couple of years: Mind reading! Time travel! Telekinesis!Forging an army of zombie slaves! (who will be making chocolate)
